All the Best Bits of Waterloo Food Month to Look Forward to

You might not realise it, but if you are lucky enough to find yourself staying in or around the Waterloo area, you are actually sitting on a thriving cultural hub. This is never more apparent than in the summertime, when Waterloo Food Month sets up shop with the sole intention of sharing the wonderful edible wares of the local businesses.

Therefore, we’ve put together for you a mouth-watering taster of what you can expect from this appetising festival:

‘Flavours of the Waterloo World’ Launch Party (Lower Marsh) – Thursday 28th June
If you’re looking for a taster of all the local cuisine that Waterloo has to offer, then you’re going to want to get down to Lower Marsh Market on Sunday 28th June. This will all be tied together with a colourful mix of live music, activities and even a live screening of the World Cup.

Sunday Jazz, Vodka and Dumplings (Baltic Restaurant) – Every Sunday until 29th July
This really is as refined as it sounds and if you haven’t sampled one of the house-infused vodkas that Baltic restaurant has to offer – along with its lauded Polish dumplings – then quite frankly you haven’t lived.


Cuban Street Food Tasting (Cubana) – Tuesday 3rd July
Considering it is one Waterloo’s most treasured venues, it was a no-brainer that Cubana would set up a delicious tasting of some of its famous street foods. Then, of course, once you’re done with the eating you can head inside to carry on the party Latin-American style.


Cocktail-Making Workshop (Mark’s Bar at The Old Vic) – Thursday 5th July
Located within the iconic Old Vic theatre on The Cut, Mark’s Bar has gained critical acclaim over the years for its cocktails and now you can learn how to make them too.


Cake Lock-In (Konditor & Cook) – Every Thursday from 5th-26th July
There are few things in life that sound as good as a ‘cake lock-in’ and you can guarantee that Konditor & Cook will be sharing all of their very best baked goods with the people who are lucky enough to get in to this exclusive tasting event.


Chapel Down Tasting at Florentine (Florentine Restaurant & Bar, Park Plaza London Waterloo) – Thursday 19th & Thursday 26th July
It’s no secret that English wines have skyrocketed in popularity over the years and the experts at delectable British brasserie Florentine have made it their mission to share the delights of their heralded wines from English winery Chapel Down.

National Tequila Day (Paladar) – Tuesday 24th July
If National Tequila Day already sounds like an enticing notion, then Paladar are taking it a step further by offering their guests on Tuesday 24th July a tasting trio that comes complete with three different tasty tortillas.


Waterloo Foodbanquet (The Oasis Centre) – Friday 27th July
Based on a highly commendable concept put together by the Waterloo Foodbank, the Oasis Centre’s ‘Foodbanquet’ offers guests a three-course meal cooked by an expert local chef, made with ingredients that can all be found in a food parcel.
