AMANDA GEGG, SEPT 2017
When it comes to Fashion Week season, there is nowhere in the world more fun, fearless and creative than our beloved London. With an unrivalled reputation for innovation, every year sees designers flock in their droves to show their latest collections here, which inevitably sees the city come to life from 15th – 19th September, hosting some of the most prestigious parties at some of the most sought-after locations.
This September is set to be more exciting than ever with Tommy Hilfiger bringing his renowned collaboration with Gigi Hadid to the capital on Tuesday 19th, which you can absolutely guarantee will have all of the big names in fashion in attendance, not to mention the media spotlight of the world shining upon it. Of course, the location of this show is strictly under lock and key for now, but if you want to be at the heart of the Fashion Week action, ready to take advantage of any spontaneous afterparty invites, here is our top pick of London’s fashion hotspots:
The beautifully minimalist Store Studios are the official show space for this year’s London Fashion Week and therefore the epicentre of the fashion world for those 5 very important days, followed swiftly by LFW Festival, taking place just after the main event from 21st – 24th September.
It certainly wouldn’t be unreasonable to describe Dover Street Market as the Mecca of the fashion world and if you’re in to high-end shopping or celeb-spotting – perhaps both at once – then this is where you’ll be wanting to spend your time.
Not only steeped in British history but also fashion kudos, no one ever tires of Claridge’s. With a supreme collection of Art Deco furniture and an atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else in London, there is a reason why this world-famous hotel is a go-to for Britpack members such as Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne.
There is absolutely no question that Annabel’s is the place to be during London Fashion Week. Host to February’s ridiculously exclusive LOVE magazine party (attended by the likes of Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid), there is no doubt that if you manage to get yourself in here you’ll be in for a night to remember.
Just tucked away from the liveliness of Oxford Street lies the Sanderson Hotel; a major favourite amongst London’s fashion elite. The beautifully decorated Long Bar is where you’ll want to position yourself and if you’re able to get a table in their gorgeous outdoor space – considered one of the best in the city – then all the better.
