London Top 10 quirkiest cafés

Lulu Le Vay, November 2017

Who said popping out for a coffee and a cake had to be boring? Not on our watch. Here are the most quirky 10 café stops London has to offer.

1. Pedal Back Café
Simple spot in Tooting market. Not just for cyclists, but you might see a lot in there sipping coffee and re-fuelling on Guinness and chocolate cake while their bikes are being repaired.

2. Lion’s Coffee & Records
Browse through new and vintage records while supping Allpress coffee at this delightful spot in Lower Clapton.

3. You Don’t Bring Me Flowers
Head to leafy Hither Green in South East London to drink coffee in antique mismatched mugs with a backdrop of fresh florals.

4.Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium
If you don’t like cats, then best swerve this adorable rescue cat café in Bethnal Green. Booking essential.

5. Cereal Killer Café
Gimmicky, but hugely successful. Based on Brick Lane, this place has more cereal than you can shake a pint of milk at. Great for parties.

6. Cabman’s Shelters
These bright green Grade II listed shelters dotted around London were originally built for the drivers of hansom cabs and Hackney carriages. The cheapest coffee and bacon sarnie in London.

7. Draughts
Another themed café, for lovers of board games. While away the long winter days with over 600 board games on offer.

8. Fuckoffee
Who are they telling to fuckoffee? Oh. Yes. Trendy yet tongue-in-cheek coffee shop for non-wannabe hipsters.

9. Look Mum No Hands!
Another cycle café in Farringdon. Coffee and cake while you get your bike fixed, or you can simply enjoy the surroundings watching people in lycra.

10. Yurt Café
Right next to Limehouse DLR you can have coffee, cake and homemade dishes in, you guessed it, a yurt (round tent thing covered in felt).
