CARLY- ANN CLEMENTS, NOVEMBER 2017
It’s time to boycott the razor and get your wallet out because Movember is here once mo’. Since 2007, men across the world have been demonstrating their facial hair growing skills (or lack there of) to raise money and awareness for prostate and testicular cancer.
Over the past decade, MoBros and Mo-Sistas have been putting on events to raise a smile as well as funds during the month of November and this year is no different.
Florentine Restaurant – November 4th
The all-day bar and restaurant – located just minutes from London Southbank and Waterloo – will be hosting a day-time party in the name of the men’s health charity. Taking place from 12pm-5pm, you’ll be able to order from a menu of eclectic, simple and expertly-made brunch dishes, have some lolz with some Movember-themed props – think Movember baby dummies and glittery mustaches – and have the chance to win a £100 voucher for Florentine by documenting your mo-ments on Instagram and Twitter using the #movembermoments. Plus, a DJ will be spinning soulful and funky tunes from 12pm-3pm to get the vibe pumping.
Toast the ‘tache with a Mr Lambeth cocktail and £4 will be donated to Movember. It’d be selfish not to get another round in.
MoRunning – If you prefer to support charities the old fashion way – i.e. with sport and healthy things – then you can become a MoRunner. Taking place at Battersea Park on November 12 and Greenwich Park on November 26, philanthropists can take on the 10km MoRun while their kids (age 3-12) can tackle the 1.5km Mini MoRun to help men dying too young.
