Ladies, if you want a night out that doesn’t have to follow the conventional cocktails, dinner and dancing formula, then let us guide through the most fun alternative girls’ night out you can have in London. But, you’ll have to ditch the heels. Are you ready?
1. Women’s boxing
The Golden Girl boxing gym in Euston offers boxing for women that provides sessions and training for those who wish to escape the wimpy boxercise classes on offer at local gyms. These classes are delivered by professional boxing coaches, who not only teach boxing skills, but deliver sessions that burn more calories than you can shake an almond croissant at. You can drop in for a one-off session with your gal pals and hit some bags before you hit the town.
2. Gin tasting
Forgot Cosmos, they’re soooo yesterday. It’s now all about gin. Whether in a class G&T or a gin Martini. Danish gin distillery Jensen’s in Bermondsey is a great spot to take the girls for gin tasting and a tour. Jensen’s gin is a recreation of London gin, but with extra delicate florals and citrus flavours. Open on market days, Saturday 10-4 and Sunday 11-4. Distillery tours can be arranged on request.
3. Secret Cinema
Going to a movie with popcorn with your pals just isn’t going to cut it. However, going to Secret Cinema definitely will. Launched in 2007, this immersive cinema experience has changed the face of cinema-going. Classic cinema is re-enacted through a participatory world – yes, that’s you – a refreshing alternative to screens and our modern obsession with technology. Sign up to get information on the next showing. No popcorn allowed. Book Now: https://www.secretcinema.org/
4. Scrabble
Try something different and take the girls out to a Scrabble night. Hell, you can even go after your gin tasting, might make it interesting. Shake up your usual routine and embrace the wordsmith within. The London Scrabble Meet Up group holds events at the Royal Festival Hall and the Woolwich Equitable pub in south London once a month. A great opportunity to meet some interesting new people. https://www.meetup.com/ScrabbleUK/
