One of the many highlights of London's festive season is the incredible light displays across the city.
The lights make the perfect Instagram pics and provide entertainment for all of the family. We've rounded up a selection of the best ones around the city for you to enjoy.
South Bank’s Winter Lights
We don't know about you but we love a stroll along the South Bank and this year’s experimental light projections, neon canopy and intriguingly lit abandoned cars make it even more enjoyable. It’s the perfect end (or start) to your day on the South Bank visiting all the tourist attractions, theatres and restaurants and bars.
Oxford Street & Regent Street
Trailing the whole length of Oxford Street, Oxford Circus and Regent Street these stunning Christmas lights are a magical display. They are well worth visiting, before heading off to Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, or getting all your Christmas shopping done.
Covent Garden and Seven Dials
With a spectacular display of lights, decorations, a Frozen themed forest, and a new immersive LEGO installation, Covent Garden’s Piazza is the place to be this season. They’ve also installed a daily snowfall display, taking place daily on the hour from 12pm – 7pm, on the West and North Piazzas. While you’re there, it would be rude not to head over to Seven Dials to see the wonderful displays continued across the capital.
Christmas at Kew Gardens
It really is the most magical time of year at Kew Gardens when the trees and trails turn into a Christmas spectacular of twinkling lights and illuminated tunnels. In its eighth year, it’s the perfect outdoor winter evening event and is planned to run until Sunday 9th January.
Cool Carnaby Street
Quirky neon light displays shine down from above Carnaby Street. This spot is undoubtedly one of the coolest parts of London and these lights will make your trip to the independent boutiques and bars a really special one.
Marylebone Village
Maylebone is a real hidden gem located just a few minutes walk away from bustling Oxford Street. This beautiful part of London offers a totally different experience to the main tourist spots, whilst also providing an array of stunning boutiques, eateries and market stalls.
Winterfest in Wembley
London's tallest LED Christmas tree on Wembley Park Boulevard is running until 4th January 2022. The Wembley Winterfest area will be lit up with a series of digital artworks, kinetic lights and attractions and events, along with a photo exhibition. Plenty to enjoy for all of the family.
