The Best Insta-worthy Spots in Vondelpark

By Lauren Harmes

As Amsterdam’s largest natural space, Vondelpark is the perfect spot to get that perfect Instagram shot to make all your friends at home seethe with jealousy.

But where to start? In such an ample green area, there are lots of opportunities to snap that once-in-a-lifetime picture.

This former church and current international concert venue for organists, composers and other artists is a beautiful building within Vondelpark.

Head down to get your Instagram story, but stay for one of the regular performances from musicians around the globe.

For something a little different, you can head over to Blauwe Theehuis (Blue Tea House) – a 1930's Modernist pavilion and former tea house which now operates as a café and restaurant.

Surrounded by beautiful trees, this is a great place to get insta-snappy while enjoying some refreshments al fresco.

Another eatery on the list – Vondelpark3 is a stunning former pavilion offering the perfect jump-in-the-air-in-front-of-a-pretty-building Instagram shot.

Enjoy a cup of coffee, salad or even an alcoholic beverage to wind down after all the picture taking.

Rose Garden (Rosarium)

Take a stroll through the rose garden for an ideal Springtime Insta post.

With over 70 types of roses in one garden on 63 hexagonal beds, you won’t be short of opportunities to get a picture here. Roses flower best between mid-May and the end of June so plan your trip accordingly.

Open air Theatre

From June to September, this performing arts venue is alive with festivals, dance, cabaret, theatre, comedy and music.

With free entry (donations are encouraged), it’s quick and easy way to get a lovely Insta-snap or story of some very talented people up on the open air stage.
